A destination for all tastes
One of the most diverse countries in the world, Ecuador is located in South America. The country owes its name to the equator, the imaginary line that crosses the country. Although Ecuador is one of the smaller countries in South America, the country fascinates with its four geographically different regions. The Pacific Coast with miles of sandy beaches and warm weather; the Andean highlands a region with majestic Andean mountains and rich culture in every corner; the Amazon region full of mysticism and breathtaking biodiversity; and the evolutionary wonder of the Galapagos Islands, which inspired Darwin's theory of evolution. Like nowhere else you will find these four worlds in one country, very close together.

Galapagos Islands
Overview:
Above the waves of the Pacific Ocean are the most amazing islands on Earth: the Galapagos Islands.
The vegetation and wildlife are vast, representing humanity's distant past. Their climate is one of the most pleasant in the world, making it a year-round tourist destination. This natural zoo is home to a number of endemic species, including Galapagos penguins and Darwin's finches, giant tortoises, and marine and land iguanas.
The islands can be explored in two ways: on a cruise that allows you to travel further out and visit remote islands in the Galapagos archipelago, or on an Island Hopping Program, which is suitable for those who want to sleep on firm land and stay in hotels.
Climate:
There are two different seasons in the Galapagos Islands:
Warm season (also known as the rainy season) runs from December to May.
Cold season (also known as dry season) in the Galapagos lasts from June to November.
Andes
Overview:
Incredibly beautiful scenery, humid and tropical woods, valleys, vibrant towns and historic cities, lakes, waterfalls, lagoons, and rivers may all be found in the huge valley that forms the Andean mountain range in the center of Ecuador.
Most of the country's volcanoes and all the snow-capped peaks are located here. This impressive route was named as the “Avenue of Volcanoes” by the German scientist Alexander von Humboldt.
This region is home to the largest indigenous market in South America, the Otavalo Market, and one of the best-preserved historical colonial centers in the world—Quito, the capital of Ecuador.
Climate:
The highlands of Ecuador have notable daily changes in temperature and precipitation, being drier and colder than the rest of the country.
Pacific Coast
Overview:
Ecuador's coastline measures around 670 km long and 150 km wide.
It is a fertile agricultural area with big productive areas, natural reserves, diverse flora and fauna, and stunning beaches. Being the most significant port in the country and known as "The Pearl of the Pacific," Guayaquil is also one of the most popular convention destinations. It is recognized as a model of urban regeneration in Latin America.
Every year between June and October, humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to mate and reproduce near Isla de la Plata, also known as Galapagos Chiquito (Little Galapagos), where blue- and red-footed boobies, dolphins, sea turtles, yellow-necked albatrosses, and frigatebirds with red-swollen crops can be found.
Climate:
All year round, the climate is tropical and warm, with some months experiencing particularly high rainfall.
Amazon Rainforest
Overview:
The Amazon Rainforest is home to tapirs, anacondas, boa constrictors, tortoises, alligators, jaguars, deer, armadillos, bears, monkeys, and over 900 bird species.
Since ancient times, the rainforest and its medicinal plants have acted as a natural pharmacy for the indigenous cultures that live here.
Visitors can go bird watching at sunrise, paddle in an Amazonian river, or go for a night walk to observe animals. A visit to this location will remind how vital and irreplaceable the Amazon Rainforest is.
Climate:
One of the wettest areas in the country, with significant levels of heat and humidity.
